For more than a decade, Americans—and people throughout the world—have awakened each day to political news that once would have seemed unimaginable.

From the memorable ride down the golden escalator through the events of January 6, 2021, The Nut With a Gut retells what we witnessed through comic rhyme, simple language, and colorful illustrations.

One deliberate choice runs throughout the book. The central figure has spent a lifetime turning his name into a brand. I have chosen not to reward that obsession by repeating it here. In these pages, he is simply “The Nut with a Gut.” That is enough.

The Combined Edition brings Part One and Part Two together in one book: more than 430 stanzas, 170+ pages, and 85+ illustrations chronicling the Nut’s rise, his presidency, and the supporting cast known as “The Despicable Clan.”

SATURATION SYNDROME

Some have dismissed concern over these events as “derangement syndrome.”

I reject that label.

Derangement implies irrationality. What many of us have experienced is something very different: saturation—too much, too often, too fast.

The problem is not simply that dangerous things happened. It is that so many things happened, one after another, that the public’s ability to absorb and remember them became overwhelmed. That is what I call saturation syndrome.

My goal is not merely to mock. It is to remember.

Because when history comes at us too quickly to digest, comedy may be one way to make sure we do not forget.
